May 2008

So last week I got everything all set for the AAS in Wellington. I sent off 2 big pieces. The day they arrived I got the phonecall no artist ever wants to hear… one of my paintings had been damaged in transit. UGH! I really like this painting! So today it arrived back and I tore the box open to get to the painting to see it for myself. There it is… a nice tear in the painting. I’ll put up a photo when I have more energy. I believe I can repair it but now the value goes down. So sad it won’t be in the show anymore. The NZAAT lady sounded so sad for me.

I’ve also shifted my dining furniture against a wall so I could put about 30 of my paintings into the dining room for storage until I drop them at the gallery. I have a few I really need to get finished today. Then I’ll get them all dropped off by Thursday latest.

Tomorrow I have an interview for a local paper. So wish me luck. I’ve never been in the paper before. My 5 year old daughter has…her 23 year old mother hasn’t. Gosh hehe.

Very tired today. I can barely move. Kickboxing started up last night and sensei worked us till we needed to throw up. Actually I still feel like throwing up. The training is so intense, I’m scared to go back!

My little lovelies

I’m having a hard time figuring out where to send these. I have 12 in total. A few still need a bit of work but here they are so far.

I currently have about a million paintings being created at the same time. These are for the various upcoming exhibitions and my head has just been a mess lately with so much going on, that I haven’t had time to paint in about 2 weeks. I’ve been trying to work on a few to fight through the painters block and it’s beginning to kick in now. Here are a copule that I’ve just finished.

And COMPLETELY off topic, here is my little boy running past everyone at his very first rugby game on Saturday. I had to miss the game because my daughter had swimming but I made sure his Daddy got lots of photos.

Here are a few flicks from the night. I’ll be back tomorrow to wite up what’s been happening the past week.

Turns out Chilli Mussels is a huge hit. A lot of positive comments were floating around at the opening about it. It was great to know but then my palms started sweating and I just wanted to hide.
