I haven’t had much time to blog this past week because life has been busy. Fun though! We just had my in-laws leave. They were tiki-touring around the lower South Island and we got to hang out for a few days. It was great to have family around. I didn’t get any photos though, ugh.
It was also my sons 5th birthday! I can hardly believe it. He was so happy on his birthday. I managed to get a few photos of him at kindy before the batteries in the camera died. I’ll upload them when I figure out how to access them.
My daughter had an athletics day on Friday. She won one of the sprints and made it to the finals where she ended up coming 2nd. Shes too cute! We popped by around lunch time and saw her doing long jump but unfortunately we missed the races. I think I’ll stay the whole time next year.
Today I received a painting from the artswap. I love it! It’s a painting by artist
Sophia Elise

So keep watch on this post. I will update it with photos as soon as I can.
ANNOUNCEMENT:
On the 25th Oct at 5.00pm there will be an auction at the
Poverty Bay Club in Gisborne and will; be auctioning works that are still available for sale. 10% of the proceeds will be donated to the East Coast Breast Cancer Trust.
I was commissioned to create a rather challenging piece a few months ago. All I had to go on was make it manly and use words/inspirational quotes. I decided to use a lot of texture and ‘The Secret’ as my inspiration. It has a resin finish.

I decided to put an old sketch of mine into this exhibit. I did it a few years a but couldn’t remember any exact date, so ended up using the date I was sending it off, on the form. There’s something about the image I always admired and I’ve wanted to use it but never knew how. I figure sending it to be viewed around the country and then off to the Auckland Museum files is a pretty good way to show her to the world. I hope you see the magic and mystery in her too. Now I know, I know, it’s not your ‘traditional’ sketch but after viewing the 2006 entries, I feel she’ll fit right on in with this exhibit. If you’re in Akl, Chch or Welli be sure to mark these dates down!
