About

Hello, my name is Chavah Kinloch. Thank you for being part of my community.

This is where I share my most up to date progress in life, exciting  news, my art, creative how to’s and inspirational lifeisms. This is the place you will  learn a bit more about me as a person.

I am 25 years old, living a wonderful life in Southland, New Zealand, with my husband and our 4 gorgeous children.

In one interesting weekend of 2004, my husband and I sold our first home in Auckland, NZ. Six months later we relocated across  this beautiful country, to create a better lifestyle for ourselves and our then, 2 children.  Since our move in 2005 we’ve added two more sons to our family, purchased two more properties and plan to  acquire many more in our lifetime. We have a passion for Real Estate.

I work as an artist from my home based studio while raising my young children. I like to believe that I get the best of both worlds this way.

I created this  blog to keep record of my inspirations and creative activities. I love colour,  texture, poetry and romance. My paintings are done in acrylics and mixed media on canvas. I am inspired by my heritage, emotions, motherhood and reflections on life. I exhibit nationwide and have sold internationally.

In 2006, after having my third child I dropped 50kg the good old fashioned way with healthy eating and exercise. I had just had 3 babies in 3 1/2 years. No special tricks, just honest hard work. I was doing great until we decided to have one more baby. Pregnancy and I have never been bosom buddies but I had planned on carrying on my workout routine right up until delivery. That didn’t quite work out because I was completely unable to find an ounce of energy the entire 9 months and I was put on bed rest for the first 3. Last year in July 2009 my youngest child was born. He weighed in just under 12lb and I’m not quite 5’4″. Yeah…it was as hard as you imagine it to be and the aftermath has thrown my body through a loop. This year I’ll be focusing on recovering from this ordeal and dropping all the weight that comes with having gigantic babies. I will share my ups and downs, the tips I’ve learned and my struggle to implement all the knowledge I’ve gained into the daily routine of my hectic life.

As you’d expect, with a growing young family we keep things on a pretty strict budget.  In 2007 my husband and I really impressed our bank  with the way we worked figures in our budget. Our bank took the  ideas we  implemented in our budgeting system and put them into a new scheme that is now used nationwide to  help people into their first homes. In the one week it took for us to learn from our very excited broker of this new scheme the bank had adopted, it had already been used to help 3 families into their first homes. I can’t even begin to  imagine what the number is at now.

In 2008 I was one of 8 NZ artists to be selected as part of a fundraising exhibition in London, UK where my work was displayed and then sold at auction. I have also donated my creations to many wonderful charitable organisations. I’m headed into my fourth year with the NZ Art Guild and I’m an active member of the council for the Southland Arts Society. Recently I was invited to join a group initiative driven by dedicated, professionally-minded artists living South and West of Dunedin, NZ. I’ve been working behind the scenes in the community, helping create a regional event known as Art in the Park and doing work in galleries selling my own art, other artists work and teaching others how to promote themselves and create an online presence. In 2010 I will be heading back to school to  receive my Bachelors in Applied Media  - Visual Arts. I’ll be focusing on photography and learning new techniques while improving my skills in painting , drawing, journalism and sculpture. This will take me three years and once that’s done we’re going to pack  our bags again and  head overseas. Well, that’s the plan anyway. We’ll see what life  throws at us.

I LOVE to blog. It’s one of my favourite parts of the day. I’m a  big goal setter and a huge believer in the power of positive thinking. I believe life is all about choices. The life we have is a direct effect of the choices we make. When we realise that positive choices will bring positive reactions, life gets instantly easier. I would really love for you to join me in Creating my Reality.

Thank you for stopping by.

Chavah.
