Divide and Conquer

My family love to bake. Every week you can guarantee they’re in the kitchen creating chaos, fun, memories and delectable delicacies. There’s a recipe we haven’t attempted to create just yet because of it’s complexity. I’m not sure if we’re up to it yet! They are a French specialty, they’re obvious fan favourites all over the internet and they’re featured as a ‘big challenge’ on every single competitive cooking show known to man. Do you know what I’m talking about? Take a guess…

If you guessed macaron’s  well done. I’ve never even tried one before but I really want to! It’s eating me alive. Alive I tell you! The local stores where I live aren’t really big on foreign dishes, so my best bet is to visit a big city like Auckland (where I’d be quite happy to score myself a one-hour holistic massage session in Auckland while I’m at it) or to suck it up and attempt to create some of these beauty’s myself.

Take a look. After seeing this beauty you know you want to have a go as well:

OMG *drool* it’s so pretty. I have to have one. I can totally picture my family and I picking one flavour each and slaving away attempting to create the perfect masterpiece.

Imagine my delight when I realised that there is something out there in this crazy little world, that can actually help me along with my not so unrealistic dream of attempting to create my own macaron tower!  Ahh huh. You can thank me later. This macaron baking kit with silicone tray and decorating kit is just waiting for me to purchase it. You better believe I will too! Perfect macaron’s every time? Look like a professional when really I’m a mediocre amateur at best? Ok then, why not. Let’s rock this show.

Yum Yum Yum… I had a friend who had nailed macaroons and brought a huge tupperware container of them to every church function! So good. There are some nice ones at the Farmers Market, and I had one a McCafe the other day. That one wasn’t so good as macaroons go.

They’re so cute & adorable, but I haven’t tried them yet. I haven’t seen any around here, so I’d have to take a leap of faith & just order them, without knowing whether they’re good or not. I could try making them, but I’d want to try a good one first, to know how they’re supposed to be…
You should so buy the kit & make a macaron tree!
