My Weekend Project

Everybody knows that the best time to get anything done is when you’re trying to procrastinate doing something else, right? So that’s how this project got started. I had told myself I’d dedicate my weekend to getting through a bunch of laundry and sorting out old clothes that needed to be donated or sold.

Of course now it’s the Sunday evening and I still haven’t started my laundry..

BUT I did make this!

That was way more fun than laundry.

My husband and I were in need of some drawers, a place to put gym clothes when they weren’t being worn or in the washing machine.

Although you can’t see it in that top photo, the drawers were badly scratched and stained but that’s ok because they were no match for me and my power tools!

I’ve been wanting to create a Chinese inspired piece of furniture for a while now, so it was great to purchase something practical for every day use and get the idea out of my head.

I picked up the drawers for $20 because they were in such ‘bad’ condition. There was another set, exactly the same but in  slightly better condition for $60.  All up this makeover cost me $48. I think I got the better deal! They’re a great solid set. I love furniture with personality.

Now I’m itching to create something else!
