Weekend Pics

by Chavah Kinloch on October 6, 2008

This weekend has been fun. We spent most of it just hanging out as a family. The children stayed up late with us and watched a Hannah Montana/Miley Cyrus show and concert. They ate ice cream with lollies on top, a special request. I was looking online at furniture for childrens rooms and came across this tree.
I think it’s super cute but at this point in time, forking out $449.00 for a cardboard cutout is a bit beyond my budget. I really wanted one because I love the colourful retro look, especially for my little girl, so my first thought was to create a mural on her wall. Her room needs painting and we’d been planning on painting it this month but a mural seemed so permanent. I then had a thought that I’d use one of my huge canvases and create a simple tree design on there. So I did!

We spent a lot of time with our friend this weekend but still managed to get a wall in the bedroom painted. I had originally planned on a slightly darker green but hubby liked this one so we went with it. It’s turned out quite nice and it’s actually reeeeeallllly soothing and relaxing to be in the room now. Before it was so blah. The house is beige. A big beige nightmare, like the trend had been for the past 3 or 4 years. Thankfully it’s fading now and colour is coming back. I’m an artist, I NEED colour! Outside its a funky shape and modern black, it’s time the inside got some personality too. So here’s your sneak peak at our room.

View into the ensuite.

Don’t you just love all my jewellery? My Mum makes it!!!

These are a few candies that my children had. Hopefully you can see that they say ‘I Love You’. They each had a different word to eat, I thought it was a cute coincidence.
