Welcome!

I enjoy blogging, I have 2 others I use for everyday things but I figure it’s about time I dedicate one to Art. This is where I will be updating everyone about upcoming events and exhibitions, recent paintings and some paintings in progress. My style is what I describe as stylised/abstract symbolism. I enjoy using colour and poetry to create my works of art. Texture often finds it’s way in as well. I’m not the sort of person that can sit down and paint one thing over and over again, I always have a lot going on and my feelings and moods are constantly changing due to this which in turn means I find it hard to paint one subject all the time. That is why you’ll find a lot of diversity in my subject matter. Somedays I have a lot of time to focus and I begin a detailed stylised piece, others I’m insanely happy and just want to play with colours and textures so I’ll create an abstract piece and often at times that I feel I’m rather frustrated, I write and that is when I come up with little love hearts and poetry for my pieces. My paintings really are a part of me. They express my visions, my goals, my loves, my life.

Art is our memory of love. The most an artist can do through their work is say, let me show you what I have seen, what I have loved, and perhaps you will see it and love it too. (Annie Bevan)
