A Little Boy’s Goal + Something New Starts Tomorrow

by Chavah Kinloch on May 1, 2010

Last week at my son’s rugby game my oldest boys best friend won player of the day. He was handed a trophy as a reward and my son got a look in his eye that I knew meant business. Before we even got off the field from the last game he was asking “When do I play rugby again?”. From the moment he saw that trophy he hasn’t stopped saying “I’m going to win that next week”. I’ve been watching him all week  hoping that his wish would come true. Their game was out in the wop wops today, I missed it but he took great pride in telling me about how he scored four tries today and ripped a tonne of tags. He even caught the ball in the last minutes as soon as the other team kicked it to play the game, then ran straight through everyone to score the last try. Yay! So I’m a proud Mama today. He told me he was going to win that trophy today and that he did.

I haven’t done anything on the list today, all I’ve done is clean my house and buy kids shoes. More shoes… I can’t even count the number of shoes I’ve already had to purchase this year. The last pairs I bought are almost outgrown too, I seriously only bought them two months ago. I’m guessing this is a big year for growth spurts because my kids are really outgrowing EVERYTHING. Jumpers, tops, pants, socks, shorts, thermals… I hate to think how much money is going to be spent this year on clothing and footwear alone. You gotta do what you gotta do though, so tomorrow I’m cleaning out those closets to pass on the outgrown gear and make room for some bigger sizes. My oldest two are basically the same size, one day one is taller than the other, the next day they’ve switched places. Then the next child has massive feet and is almost catching up to his big brother. He’s a stockier build than his older brother so their clothes are close in size too. How are you meant to keep up!?!

Anyway, on a completely different subject, tomorrow I begin something brand new. I’m bringing interviews to the blog! I’ve been speaking with entrepreneur’s from across the globe and have asked if they’d share a moment of their time to pass along some tips for those of us who might also be going down the same path. I can assure you that there will be a lot of tips and experiences shared every Sunday, right here on Creating My Reality, so be sure you stop by tomorrow to read our first interview and prepare to be inspired. I’m looking forward to it. Hope you’re all enjoying your weekend, I’m about to go start my movie marathon – hey that’s on my list! I’ll catch you again tomorrow :)

I hear you on the kids clothes and shoes! I have friends with girls who have all these clothes to consign/yard sale/give away. But frankly, once they’ve gone through the two boys in this house, they’re pretty well used up! Shoes, too!

Congrats on the trophy.

Oh that sounds exciting about the interviews. I can’t wait to start reading them. That’s excellent that your son won the trophy. Congratulations for him!

Yes Jean! I have that same problem. My daughters clothes are still in great condition but my son’s are faded, ripped, stained and barely of use to anyone.
