Just thought I’d share

My little man scored three tries at touch rugby today and won player of the day. He’s a quick little fella! His first try he started slowing down until he heard Andrew and I yell “Run, run!” then you just saw something click in his mind as he looked over at us and he sped off. He usually gets the ball, speeds off then sees no-one is near him and stops to let someone touch him lol. Not today though! He was just like Forrest Gump in those football scenes. It was hilarious.

His second try he put the ball down right in front of us which was pretty cool, he’s so shy and modest. He just stood there with his big eyes looking at us waiting for us to acknowledge that he’d done the right thing. Of course we cheered and clapped and he held up two fingers to indicate that it was his second try and ran off.

Then his last run, the other team had the whole field covered so he took the ball to the corner to score the try. It was so fun to see him ‘In the zone’. It was the last game of the season. They’ll start playing in term 4 when it warms up again. I have to say, I enjoyed watching him play touch rugby more than I did rugby union last year but he loves both so it’s weigh-ins on Sunday to sign him up for the winter season. His touch rugby coach was awesome. Here’s hoping she sticks around for the next season. It was a lot of fun getting to meet with other parents and grandparents each week too.

Not to be outdone, his big sister won her running race today. Thanks to their Dad for their great legs and myself for the speedy genes!

So it looks like we’re off to Cobb n Co sometime this week with Nas’ Player of the Day vouchers to celebrate.

Way to go kids!
