That’s It!

by Chavah Kinloch on April 21, 2010

I’m getting Lipo.

I wish… Meh.

I am so ticked off today. In the past 4 months so much has happened that I’ve had no time for myself. Today it’s reached it’s peak. I’m tired, I’m angry and I’m pretty much ready to throw in the towel with everything and everyone because I’m so tired and angry. It’s just one of those days for me. I know, I know, change your attitude Chavah… I’m trying, I promise.

So here’s what’s going on. My scales are going in the wrong direction and I’ve seen THAT picture that kicks you up the butt enough to make you realise that you’ve gotten so darn fat you don’t even recognise yourself anymore. Ugh *puke*.

Now, I’ve spent enough time wallowing in self pity so I’ve decided to actually make an effort. See, I’ve been putting off the whole effort thing because I’ve had enough on and seeing as I know exactly what’s required of me to strip the fat, I just didn’t want to do it.

Anyway, I’ve been doing some soul searching today. I don’t like being angry, I’m not naturally an angry person. I see a problem and I solve it. The only solution to my fatness is putting in effort so that’s where I’m at. It’s time.

There will be tears, there will be swearing and there will be cheers when my clothes start to fit again. Will you join me? I seriously need someone to cheer me on :|

I’m going to make reporting in a weekly thing, I’m going to find something to monitor my progress for everyone to see… and then finally, I’m going to put up a photo of me wearing one of my dresses (below) again when I can fit more than one thigh in them. It’s hard to believe that in one year, my body has changed so much.

These are my most loved clothes and shoes that have done nothing but sit there in my closet. By the end of the year, this is what I’ll be wearing again….as well as new stuff hopefully, fashion changes :D

The dresses:

And the shoes…

See…pretty. I miss pretty. Keep watch.

Oh and P.S. – I used my treadmill today. Twice… and we’re only halfway through the day. Told you I’d put in some effort.

Ohhhh I like your shoes! I got Samoan feet hence kicks is usually what I wear.

Lol we must be on similar pages in the chapters of our lives cos This week I’m going back to rugby league… first I gotta get fit so I can last 80mins on the field and recondition my body to take the hits again. I’ll be cheering you on for sure! Now I have to go find running shoes, rugby boots, and $ for subs. Which is mainly my problem Money money money! I need a job stat! That runs round my other responsibilities.

Yeah, I have Samoan feet when I’m fat and not so bad feet when I’m regular sized – notice I can’t say skinny, never been skinny lol.

Good on you Lua! Check in every week with me? We can help motivate each other :D

I’ll check in with you, and you with me! Went for my 2nd 5km race that I registered for (have signed up for 6 races in total), that was last weekend. Managed to survive it and finished and that felt good! But on the food front, I’m an absolute guts. I was jogging in the evenings but with the change of daylight savings it’s now way too dark to go alone, and my other girlfriends are finding it hard to get out for a jog with me due to family commitments. :( Sooooo I need to have a re-think about how to fit exercise into my routine during the DAY now….. and as for the food, I thought I might try really cutting back on processed foods one thing at a time, allow myself an occasional treat but not in my pantry staring me in the face every day!

You can do this Chavah, I know you can!! Totally impressed you’ve done 2 treadmill workouts today! Off to a great start babe. Let’s see what tomorrow brings. :) xoxox

I know you like challenges, so was going to mention (or did I already mention this to you? Can’t remember!) that another friend of mine is doing a 111 things in 1111 days challenge. You write down a list of 111 things you want to do/achieve and tick them off within your timeframe. I’m doing a shorter one, 30 things in 30 days….one thing a day is achievable I think. They can be about anything really, from having a relaxing bubblebath on your own without kids interupting, to trying a new recipe, to doing 20 situps, to completing a work assignment, whatever suits you. Maybe you could do something similar?

Lisa, I love your 30 things goal!!!! I would love to do something like that, that’s a fabulous idea. I’ll pop over to your friends blog and read what she’s up to then maybe do a 30 things on here tomorrow. Thank you for the support. You amaze me. <3

Yes, I can totally understand the trying to figure out WHEN to fit in the workouts. That’s a major problem for me too.

Also, can I just say…WOW. 6 5k races?! OMG I don’t even want to do one!

I’m actually feeling excited and motivated now… a MAJOR switch from this morning.

Thank you Gail!! Yes, sometime during the past few months I have let junk food back into the house. I need to start saying no again. I love the shoes too hehe. Here’s to making an effort so I can rock them again.

It’s a good thing you aren’t doing lipo! You’d likely go back to the same weight again because your diet and exercise likely wouldn’t change. I need to loose weight too. My biggest problem is getting on a set schedule (and not being on everyone else’s schedule all the time) so I can actually go out there and work out for an hour or so.

I’ve found that doing a little bit each day helps for keeping up with these things. This worked as far as my sketch blog goes. I try to post a sketch every day (and if I miss a day I go back and make up for what I missed).

Good luck on your goals, and don’t get upset if you aren’t losing weight right away. If you aren’t losing weight after a while kick up the cardio (this was my problem last time I was really into working out.. no where near enough cardio). I heard that it takes anything 90 days to get into being a habit, so keep on keeping on!

Lisa! The other Lisa (Lisa B :D ) just pointed out that you’re two different people hehe. Thank you so much for your kind words, I’m flattered. You’re lovely :) I’m so glad you’ll be there for support.

Hehe Helen, you’re so good to post every Wednesday. My weigh ins usually work well for Fridays so I’ll be going through a bit of trial and error on which day works for my posts but I love the Wednesday Weigh-Ins title!

Haha Dani, I’d never actually do Lipo! I gained weight due to the worst pregnancy ever, bedrest and an insane amount of stress from having my brother and SIL live with us during the time. That’s a reeeeally long story. I only ever do things on my own time, I’m stubborn like that but you’re right, if you don’t go about losing weight the right way there’s no point in doing it! Quick fixes never work. That’s why I didn’t start till now :P

Thanks Chavah, yeah 6 x 5k races. They are for all fitness levels, some people race hard out, some like me are there to challenge themselves at bit and get out there and get moving, some just walk it. They are really great. Hard…but great :)

Dani, I forgot to add that it takes 21 days to form a habit. I’ve used it before – work’s great – and shared that tip with anyone that would listen when I lost the weight after my last baby hehe.

Thanks Jessi Louise!! They’re definitely a great motivator, just pulling them out again made me kick myself. Can’t wait to put them on again :D

No matter how somebody gets through a 5k race, I’m impressed!
