These Are My Confessions Part II

by Chavah Kinloch on March 23, 2010

“Just when I thought I said all I can say…

There are a lot of new people in our little community here at Creating My Reality so I thought I’d revisit my confessions. It’s a quick way for people to get to know me and us to get to know each other.  We’re all far from perfect…sad but true  but these are good for a laugh and helping us feel like we’re not completely alone in our little oddities.

  • I keep my nails long. I used to bite them as a kid and weaned myself so that when I painted them, they looked cuter.
  • I don’t drink coffee. I’ve tried to like it but I just can’t.
  • Ice cream is my kryptonite.
  • I’m the youngest of 2 children but get mistaken as the older sister. I don’t look older so I guess it’s because I come across uptight? Kidding – I don’t actually know the reason. I suspect I’m not far off in my assumption though.
  • I avoid going to the doctor. I’m probably dying.
  • I’m terribly uncoordinated when it comes to sport but I used to be an awesome sprinter. USED to be. Now I live vicariously through my kids.
  • Big shoulders make me purr.
  • I firmly believe in the saying “A place for everything and everything in it’s place”. Clutter drives me crazy.
  • Last month I freaked out when I couldn’t find my ipod because I wanted to listen to some music while I cleaned. I completely forgot CD’s existed.
  • I found my ipod as I cleaned to a CD.
  • This is what my banana looked like the other day. Would you eat it? I didn’t. I really wanted to eat it, I hate wasting things haha. It looked perfect on the outside.
  • When I paint it gets messy and I constantly pray that no one decides to pop over for a visit.
  • Seven months after having a baby, it still hurts to use a treadmill. I’m beginning to wonder if I’ll ever heal properly.
  • I love a man in a suit.
  • A hoody and a New Era cap also rock my world.
  • If a child hits my child, they’re allowed to hit back. Do unto others, after all.
  • I want to be a cross between Beyonce and Gwen Stefani. I can’t decide who I love more.
  • I hardly ever remember the names of movies I watch or the characters in them.
  • I sketched and started to paint today. There’ll be a lot more detail in the final product but here’s a glimpse:

  • I love seeing public displays of affection.
  • I sing really loudly at home and in the car even though I know I’m not good at it.
  • Given the choice to go out or cuddle up on the couch, I always choose the latter. This only happens twice a year so no biggy.
  • I never get sick of listening to Notorious B.I.G.
  • I ordered the coolest cot for Boston today! I can’t wait to FINALLY finish his room. Life has been rather busy and the thought of peeling back what’s left of the 7 layers of wallpaper makes me want to scream.
  • My neverending laundry pile has existed since 2002. The year my first child was born…coincidence? I think not.

Now it’s your turn, I want to know at least 5 things about you. Whether it be what you do, a little quirk, your favourite colour or what you eat for breakfast. It’s harder than you think!

That banana wants to be a cake!

1.For years I would only wear black and maybe navy blue. Now my favorite colour is barbie pink.
2.I collect stray animals. I have 2 cats and counting. Batman & Elvis.
3.I don’t think I have ever liked one of my own paintings.
4.Sometimes when there is a knock on the door I slink off the couch onto the floor and hide until they have gone. LOL.
5.I really wanna go karaoke (and sing) something really hoochie haha.

Oh Molly! We surprisingly have a lot in common hahaha. I loved your confessions :D Let’s hide from unexpected visitors, critique our paintings, wear bright clothes, collect strays and karaoke together some day. I loooove karaoke. The more ‘out there’ the song, the better!

1. I would rather eat something salty than sweet.
2. The first car I ever bought was a Yugo – a blue one.
3. I am an introvert at heart, but it is totally covered up by the extrovert that has taken over.
4. I went to law school and passed the bar with no intention of ever practicing.
5. There is not one white wall in my house…color makes me happy.

Lol Molly! Your number 1 is what I use to wear for years now I’ve incorporated gray, & Red into my wardrobe.

Chavah I’m the second youngest & most people think that my younger sister is older than me… they say she looks older but I think it’s cos they see that she has 2 children so must be older.

1. I’m starting my second year of managing a school boys rugby league team because last year my nephew really wanted to play but his team was left with no coach or manager. I felt obliged to make sure he could play another season of rugby league because he always wanted me to come & support him (which I did) so I put my hand up and have regretted it ever since because….

2. I HATE letting down kids! It depresses me to think that I’ve failed any kid!

3. I dislike to wear red when I’m in my hometown but have no choice due to our club colours being red. The reason being that I don’t think the colour looks good on me & our city has a “club” (gang) who’s colour is red.

4. I’m afraid I may be suffering from writer’s block… I think it’s just that I don’t like what I’ve written cso I keep re-writing the same piece just described with sentences worded differently.

5. If I don’t take any interest in what’s happening around me I’m usually having conversations in my head with… the different opinions floating round about things that I think are worthy marinating on, or sometimes I just listen to what’s happening round me & people usually think I’m either shy or a snob, I am neither… cos when I’m in a talkative mood you just can’t shut me up.

Jehovahs witnesses & tele=marketers.
3) Good comfortable shoes are important to me

hmmmm, well….

1. I never go anywhere without a book; I LOVE reading, (my husband hates it when I read in bed!)
2. I love sport, but was just not much good at any. Well I was OK at some but pretty bad at others; now I encourage my kids to play sport so that I too can live vicariously through them.
3. I love painting and drawing, but always feel REALLY inferior about my art when I take a piece in to an exhibition. All those other artists are soooooo bloody good!
4. I spend far too much money on clothes; I must have enough clothes by now shouldn’t I? Darn those shops for bringing out new stuff all the time…..
5. I don’t like “chatting” on the phone, I hardly ever ring anyone just for a chat, except for my Mum and a couple of really old friends. And if the phone rings it better not be for me, I’ve just got too much other stuff I’d rather be doing.

Lanita, I love that you have no white walls! I may end up with some but they’re just to break up the overload of colour I plan on plastering on my walls hehe. Ditto number 3!

Lyn, #3 & #5. That’s us then! lol. I can TOTALLY understand both of those. How great about the books though. I do love to read and used to always have a book on me. It’s been a while though :( Any suggestions for a really great read? I’d love to kick-start that old habit again.

Sandra, we have too many kids for pets haha. Nah, both Andrew and I are animal people and for years we’ve taken in any strays and longed for pets but we decided to get the kids out of the way first and then we can start with the animals. Cannot wait! I’m with you on #5 and I just wish I could garden. I seem to kill all plant life. I’ve had a cactus from Joyce and a small potted plant from Barbara that survived a couple of years but I had to leave them in Auckland. It was a tough decision for me haha.

Phillie, I have always had body issues too:| I look back and wish I wasn’t so anxious pre-kids! Totally envious that you live in a church. Just after we made an offer on the house we’re in we came across a Church. We tossed up between buying the house or pulling out and filling the dream of buying a church! You’re too cool :P I’m a total Op shopper too (no-one believes me?!) and I have no tattoos but try to picture myself with some. I can’t figure out if I like the idea of ink on me or not. Would love to see yours!

This is a excellent post, thank you! It’s the first time I visit your website, just found it via Bing. I’ve been going around and there’s a lot of top quality material. But one thing… I tried to put it to my RSS Reader and can’t. Perhaps it’s a problem of mine only… I’ll send you an email if it continues!

Hi Chavah, I love this idea and have “borrowed” it for my blog too http://karleyfeaver.wordpress.com/. Some of your confessions are very funny…her are a few of mine
- I only read non fiction books
- I am divorced
- I love animals – especially cats. I called my last 2 cats Mike and Snuffy. And kind of stole the neighbours cat Smudge. He adopted me and obviously loved me more than them.
- I have a large tattoo on my right but cheek that also goes up the side of my ribs – it’s now 10 years old. It covers an older one I got when I was 16.
- I don’t like my middle name
- I am obsessed with horror films or scary films in general. I have the gift of being able to disassociate myself from the fantasy of the movie and reality. I am never affected after watching something that others may find disturbing…maybe that is disturbing in itself
- I would really like to visit the Body Farm in America. Yes I know that’s kind of creepy, but I find forensic anthropology extremely fascinating.
- I was brought up on a farm
- I use nipple cream as my chap stick – It’s called Purelan, and is supposed to be used for breast-feeding mothers, I figured that our lips and nipples are the same material so why not. I recommend you try it.
- If it wasn’t so fattening I would eat trifle every day…even for breakfast.

I so can’t do horror! Not because I’m scared but the gore grosses me out. I can’t handle blood and gruesome torture. I loooove thrillers though. I also didn’t like my middle name until a few years ago. The nipple cream thing is actually an interesting idea. We use nappy rash cream to fix all sorts of things so why not try nipple cream on the lips! haha love your confessions. Brilliant :D P.S. Go the trifle.
