This Is My Vision Board

by Chavah Kinloch on December 28, 2009

Have you heard of them? Most people by now will have but for the few that haven’t, a vision board is a board that you create. It’s a collage of pictures and words that define all your biggest desires. It’s said to be a powerful tool in the law of attraction.

I created mine when I was newly pregnant with Boston so that’s why it has a few pregnant women. I wanted a great pregnancy. My pregnancy was everything but lol BUT I did get through it and every time I saw the happy pregnant women it changed my attitude.

My vision board includes pictures and words for all areas of my life. Work, relationships, home, family, spirituality, travel, health and fitness… Everything I could desire is up there.

So here’s mine. Do you have one? If not, why not make one and share the photo? We can track our progress together.

I’ve completed the pregnancy part so now my focus is on other parts of the board, namely the health and wealth sides. I’m always working on good relationships, that’s just a given for me.

These aren’t new years resolutions, they’re more life resolutions. I’ve been working on them for years and will carry on working on them…until.

After baby #3. I’d dropped about 40kg. Hmmm should I share the before photo for THIS pregnancy? Yikes!

32wks pregnant with a baby elephant.

Me at 39wks pg with Boston. This is what a woman carrying an almost 12lb baby looks like. That’s my packed suitcase in the corner (wishing it was my last night!)
Don’t I look SO happy?

So right now, my BIGGEST goal of all is to drop the fat. I did it after baby #3 was born and I’m going to do it again now, once and for all. I think I worked a total of two times when I was pregnant. The rest of the time I felt like I was slowly dying. This time around as I find my way out of this rut, I’m going to push even harder, go even further and take my body to a place I never realised I could get it to. I will be lean, I will be flexible, I will be the healthiest me I can be. Feel like supporting me? Thanks, that’d be great :)

I want to be fit enough to do kickboxing again, I thrived on the physical exhaustion those classes took me to. They made me mentally tough.

I want defined muscles. Not in an ugly way but in the way that you’ll know I worked hard to earn them.

I want to conquer my fear of hurting. Ever since I delivered Boston I have been battling physically of course but mentally the fear of pushing myself to a point where I might actually really hurt again has paralised me. I can’t explain the pain I was in, all I can say is that it was bad and I spent many nights awake in bed with tears rolling down my face with no way to relieve the pain. It’s been 5 months, there’s a whole lot I can do now. It’s time to move on and push past the mental barrier that has a hold on me.

So there we go. I will keep you well and truly updated with my progress.

Hey babe, love your vision board. I have one too that I should update really. I love your determination about getting fit….it’s something that I battle with…I want to get fit but lack the motivation to stay on track, I get bored easily. BUT 2010 is going to be my year, I have sussed out a jogging buddy and we will be doing this together starting this week. Having kids takes a big toll on our bodies and it sounds like you have suffered after your last labour more than most of us…so don’t beat yourself up too much. This is one of my favourite quotes, hope it inspires you that extra little bit “Whatever you can do or dream you can do, begin it. Boldness has genius, power and magic in it. To make your dream come true, begin” – Goethe

LOL Lisa. Trust you!!! The risque pic represents my love life LMBO. In that top corner there are pics of a happy couple on the beach, big hair, big smile, quotes that say ‘love’ ‘juice up your love life’ ‘sexy’ and ‘Personality is the key to sexiness. We ALL have something that makes us attractive.’ I also have those boots… hahahaha. Working on the bodies!

Hey Chavah, do you ever make it up to Christchurch? I’ll keep stopping by here and seeing how the weight loss is progressing. I’m on the road to running a half marathon, so if you’d like to stop my home on the web and give some encouragement too, it would be much appreciated :)

I am in my 6th month of my pregnancy and am loving it! Being pregnant is definitely a fantastic experience. There is going to be not a single thing more treasured in this entire world than holding my new born child in my arms for that first time. I cannot wait to meet him! My dreams of being a parent is actually finally coming true.

I’m usually not one to submit comments on other’s articles, but for this post I just needed to do it. I’ve been searching around your website a lot recently and I am really impressed, I think you could potentially emerge as one of the main voices for your market. Not sure what your schedule is like in life, but if you started devoting more time to posting here, I would guess you would begin receiving a bunch of visitors soon. With affiliate stuff, it might emerge as a nice reserve revenue source. Just something to ponder. Good luck!

Can I just say what a relief to find someone who actually knows what theyre talking about on the internet. You definitely know how to bring an issue to light and make it important. More people need to read this and understand this side of the story. I cant believe youre not more popular because you definitely have the gift.

Chava, Chava, Chava,

Your vison board – Oh dear. Some atomic power tips:

>> One theme at a time for 7 days only. Don’t dilute your precious energy
>> Lose all words – useless!! The mind loves images.
>> Few power images only – less is more
>> LIVE in the images – 30mins/day
>> Remove images off board – place to heart, head, lips etc. Replace

Do this for near-instant results.

Sent in deep respect, girl

With all due respect Moritz, this works well for me. I see words, just as I see images, it is in my nature as a poet and an artist and in fact, most of the words have already come to fruition in one way or another, they’ve proven to be incredibly powerful for me so I will be keeping them.

7 days is a ridiculous amount of time for MY goals. Maybe if they were PROJECTS. Not many GOALS will be accomplished in such a short amount of time. There would be great self belief and focus on that theme for those 7 days but dropping half your body weight is not something that will happen within that time period. What really bugs me is people trying to sell the idea that the law of attraction is nothing more than a thinking process. It is not. You’d be selling a lie if you tried to claim that was true. It is part of the process. I will change my board when I feel the need to change it. That time is not now.

My images are in groups – divided into subjects and quite frankly, they’re all working. I do ‘live’ in the images daily but obviously you figure you know everything about what I do or don’t do, already. And I’m not putting the images on me. If I want to, I will touch it, picture it in my minds eye and feel it within me. I don’t need to rub paper on my body to do so.

Also, my name is Chavah. You misspelled it three times in a row.

Now stop spamming my site with your sales site.

I just discovered your blog tonight and had a good giggle when you described yourself as carrying a baby elephant. I gave birth to my gorgeous 10 pound/57 cm little big man 5 months ago. Throughout my pregnancy people would tell me how huge I was, and this was from 3 months pregnancy. Your blog has motivated to begin my weight loss journey and loose the extra 25kgs I am carrying around. Look forward to reading more posts.
