This Is What 5am Looks Like

There is no exaggerating when I tell you that I am in no way, shape or form a morning person but when it comes to sending your daughter off on her first ski trip with the rest of her year at school, you make sacrifices. How lucky are these kids that get to go on ski trips for school? Insane. Our biggest trip was to the Auckland Domain where we got up to all sorts of mischief in the museum and surrounding gardens then rolled down the grassy hills. All I can do with snow is throw it. I hope she has a blast though, maybe she can teach me a thing or two over the coming years.

I remember growing up in invercargill and having school trips to Q’town too, we went for our Japanese class as in those days it was closest place that had a Japanese restaurant! Yes ski club was $40 for all day pass, equip hire and bus up and back- oh to be back at school in the eighties paying those prices!

I love your story Penny! How funny that that was the closest Japanese restaurant. We still only have 1 in town and maybe 2 other little sushi bars (if that) but I am a sucker for Japanese food so I only frequent one place to get my treats hehe. Oh how I wish they could keep the fee at $40! Bless the 80′s :D
