Weigh in Day – With Photos

by Chavah Kinloch on October 15, 2010

Relax! I’m alive. Just had to go treat myself with some new goodies to wear for summer. The weather is awesome here in NZ right now.

So lets get to it. I gained 800grams this week. Don’t have a clue how because you better believe I was eating right and at that gym pumping out some serious sweat. But alas, my body want’s to play games so here’s the results:

Boo hoo, cry cry, nevermind.

I sound flimsy about everything, because I have to be. I was so frustrated when I saw the number, I had the crappiest day ever on Wednesday. I can’t live in the anger, so I’ve let it go. I dragged my butt to the gym again, even though all I wanted to do was eat some chocolate, sit in a dark corner and cry; and after getting a serious talking to by my ever-so-loving husband, he grabbed the camera to prove a point. I’m sure what he really wanted to do was slap me around a bit and yell at me.. I was being so annoying; but he didn’t.

I was so angered by the number because I looked SO different this week. Compared to even just a week ago, my body had changed but it wasn’t showing up anywhere. I was actually starting to see a real difference. Not just imaginary. The number was devastating.

So I figure, I just finished my 8th week on this journey, and you already know I’m on this journey because I’m fat, I can probably show you some photo’s to prove the progress being made. No need to hide, this is my blog right? So, here is the sad, depressed me vs the frustrated, yet persevering , slightly less fat me. Oh how I long for happy and healthy me. She’s super cute, you’ll love her as much as I do. For now though, I will embrace and accept the place I’m in. Hey, it’s better than 8 weeks ago! Bring on another 8 weeks…but this time can we move the weight in weeks 6,7 & 8!

P.S. I lost all of 3.5cm in my usual measurements. Total is now 139.5cm dropped off my body.

P.P.S Sorry about the sweat. I’d just gotten home from the gym and well, that’s kind of what happens when you work out. Remember… I was getting a lecture and he grabbed the camera to snap these completely hideous shots.

Also, my hair is bad because I haven’t had it done since February. Mostly because I’ve been too fat for pretty hair. (Stupid inner thoughts, ugh.) I also need new pants because all of mine have holes/rips.

I’m sorry if you have nightmares after seeing these. If you think this is bad, just be thankful I don’t post up the pre- Boston and post-Botston delivery photos.

I’ll finish on a positive note though. I can actually see some differences in the photo’s, so thank you to my hubby for making me look with my eyes open and helping me stay motivated. Very happy to see that I’m slowly progressing towards my old curves again. The kind of curves I actually like.

WooHoo Go Chavah! There are very definite, undeniable differences so keep going at it! Good posture too BTW.
I’ve managed to knock off 2.5kgs since you started 21 days and, like you I think?, most of that was in the first 2 weeks. Wonder why it’s easier at first?

Way to go Anna! That’s an awesome amount. :D Our bodies want more and more to challenge them as we go along because they adapt. I’ve been upping everything, running and increasing resistance where possible but I haven’t broken the plateau yet. I know it’s coming, I just wish it would hurry up! I do know something that worked fabulously each time this happened last time but it requires so much disciple and effort on my part that I haven’t pushed myself to do it yet. It’s not even difficult, I just don’t want to do it lol. Getting to the point where I have to suck it up though. Will share the tip in the very near future. I haven’t written it because I’m not living it.

Hey cuz! Good on you! Don’t worry about that 800 grams, when your doing weights you gain muscle mass and muscle mass is a lot heavier then fat stored in the body, they dont tell that to you when your at the gym! So you should gain some weight along the way, but if you took measurements you should track your wieghtloss by that instead :) Haha okay, that’s my lecture done. Keep going strong!

Aww thaks Michelle for trying to make me feel better hehe. Can always count on family for a pep talk :D The truth is, even though people say muscle weighs more than fat, it doesn’t. What happens is that if someone skinny, like say, Tyra Banks, was to gain muscle, she would indeed gain weight because her body mass beforehand was small and she didn’t have the ‘stored energy’ aka fat, like me. A person with plenty of ‘stored energy’ can replace 1kg of fat with 1kg of muscle and therefore won’t gain weight but replace it. Make sense? Hope so! So if I gain something it’s most likely water retention or fat. Sucks huh lol.

Hehehe P that’s an awesome quote. Strawberry Shortcake was my FAVOURITE cartoon as a little girl :D The video store had one video of it and I would hire it over and over again.
