He Leaves Me Love Notes

by Chavah Kinloch on February 10, 2010

Reason #11220 I love my husband.

You know how couples have ‘their’ song? This is ours. Not much of a song huh? I love it though. You see, my husband is TOTALLY tone deaf. LOL I’m laughing just thinking about his singing…

Anyway, I don’t even remember how this song first presented itself in our relationship but it’s the one song that my husband sings that gives me butterflies. I even have him singing it saved to my phone so I can listen to it when I’m out and about. I know it’s silly and it’s likely to one day accidentally end up deleted but I like having it there. I’m not ready to get rid of it yet.

At any given time you’ll find at least one love note in my home. Sometimes they’re scattered around on post it notes, or only visible on the bathroom mirror after the steam from a shower makes it show up. Other times they’re written in chalk on the driveway or lipstick is smothered over a mirror to leave a note. They’re also written clear as day on the chalkboard in the kitchen, as above. In any case, we’re still that lovey dovey couple that are inseparable after 9 years.

Today holds no special meaning as far as dates go in our relationship. I just thought my hubby deserved some credit for holding it down at home with four kids and a mess of a house while I got to enjoy some quiet time alone in Auckland. So this post’s for Andrew, my only sunshine. I love you.

Love Notes

Grow old along with me the best is yet to be.

Anyone can be passionate, but it takes real lovers to be silly.

Sorry I’ve been quiet the past few days. I’m nearing the end of this pregnancy and feel like I’ve been hit with a truck, I’m just so, so tired. I managed to pull out my art gear today (I’m not venturing out to my studio at the moment so I’ve been storing things in my spare room) anyway, hopefully tomorrow I’ll have some photos to share of some new work/progess.
I hope you enjoyed the above photos. The lipstick one is in my ensuite. It’s been there since Valentines day. I don’t want to get rid of it just yet. I had written ’10 things I love about you’ on post it notes and scattered them amongst the house. I also did the hearts and A + C on the bathroom mirror. When my husband spotted the mirror drawing he joined in and said ‘let’s make it really authentic’ and added the 4Eva lol. It was fun to act like kids again.

Yesterday my daughter came into the lounge and said “Mummy, it says I love You Chavah on the mirror?!” Confused I asked her what she meant. It seems my husband left me my own love note, yay! I love that he tolerates the hopeless romantic in me.
Do you have any little things you do with your partner? Feel free to share them. I’m always looking for new ideas!
