mothers day

Books and More

by Chavah Kinloch on May 5, 2010

5. Create 2 new paintings.

24. Have a movie marathon with my hubby.

27. Bake my favourite ‘healthy’ brownie recipe.

13. Have a lunch date with my husband.

That’s four more things off the list! I really should do something a little more exciting. Like have that smear… Ugh. There’s a nurse that comes to my son’s kindergarten and I remember having a conversation with her about smears. She said she can go to peoples homes to perform them. Now, as great it sounds to not have to pack up a baby and go across the city to get one done, the thought of spreading my legs on my bed for someone that isn’t my husband, just seems extremely wrong.

Oh man, did I just go there. I did. Sorry! It’s a real life issue, I’m not editing it out. I’m sure you’ll survive.

I discovered a book I was given for my 22nd birthday yesterday. As I was rummaging around in my wardrobe to pull out some things I’d stored away, I spotted it. I’d forgotten I’d put it there. It’s called Family and is from the MILK series.

Oh how I love this book! I had hidden it away to keep it safe from the tiny little hands at my place. My 3rd child is just drawn to the book. Every day he would pull it off the shelf, read it, take it everywhere with him and then by the end of the day he’d leave it lying around on the floor. I thought it was cute that he loved it so much but it was getting to the stage where he would be smudging his food on the pages and pouring his drinks on it as he tucked it away under one arm; so I decided to put it away for a little while, for safe keeping – until he was past the destroying stage. As soon as I pulled it out yesterday, he yelled “My one Mummy!” and sat on the couch to look through it again. It’s been hidden for almost 2 years… he’s just turned four years old. Childrens memories are crazy!

I thought I’d share some of my favourite images from the book. Talk about emotional, looking at the photo’s in the book brings me to tears. Probably one of the best gift’s a person could give me. I would love some more. Hint hint *ahem* I said HINT HINT.

Mother’s Day is coming up. I’m a book lover. My dream is to have a gorgeous library, so I think you can never have too many books. Here’s my wish list! Of course I could add a few hundred more but for now, these will do. I haven’t read a fictional book in 5 years but I do still enjoy crime and romance novels. I tend to be reading about business but am a die hard fan of magazine books. So to my darling hubby who always seems confused about what to buy me on special occasions (such as Mothers Day) BOOKMARK THIS PAGE and then come back as often as you need to hehe.
