Feeling So Good

by Chavah Kinloch on April 30, 2010

I’m on a roll!

4.Try Zumba at least once – that ones for you Mim.

28. Get car rego.

22. Put my daughters hair in that plait hairstyle that’s in right now.

21. Go to an exhibition opening.

Yesss. Four more things off the list today.

Zumba turned out to be more enjoyable than I thought it would be. My gosh! I haven’t shaken my booty like that in YEARS. That shoulder shimmy move is a bit raunchy too huh? It’s probably a good thing I did it without my husband around or baby #5 might be on it’s way lol.

It really was better than I gave it credit for. The music keeps you going and the girls are so pretty they make you jealous. Well maybe not jealous, whats the word for “Man she looks good, I want her body”. Ok, so it is jealous.

Not to mention it actually seemed to be working up a decent sweat. It was so good I’m planning on incorporating it into my regular routine. I’m glad I bit the bullet and just tried it. :)

I got my hands on my daughters hair today. She was whining that I still hadn’t put it in that braided hairstyle so I told her to grab a hairtie and set about plaiting it. You’d think that with my only having one daughter I’d love doing her hair. In actuality, it’s just a chore and I was relieved when she was old enough to tie her own hair up in the morning. It’s fun on occasion, like today but doing it every day gets a bit draining. She’s cute though, she loves looking at her hair in the mirror after she’s had it done. She wore her ‘do’ out this evening and got to put some hairspray in to keep it in place. While we were in my bathroom she asked if she could wear some perfume too…teeheehee. It’s moments like that that make my heart gush and make me so happy to have a little girl. I think I’m already planning her wedding, poor girl. I’ll back off when it’s that time though but for now I can dream.

There was an opening night for The Nature of Artistry exhibition being held at City Gallery. I decided to take my whole tribe along. I was a little worried about having them all there for an opening night that wasn’t mine but people were great about it and said they were actually really glad I was bringing them along to such things. Thats good because I’m likely to bring them everywhere with me. That’s pretty much how I live. There is no babysitter and I like hanging out with my husband so we all head out together. Sometimes it makes people a bit uncomfortable but oh well. I know when not to take them but if I feel it won’t effect whatever’s happening in a negative way, I take them. It was lovely to feel welcomed. Added bonus for the day – I got to wear a dress, make up, heels and one of my Bajidoo Bangles. It makes a nice change to working from home in paint covered clothes.

Once again I’m excited for the weekend, really looking forward to discovering what else I get to cross off the list!

Opening Night

by Chavah Kinloch on March 5, 2010

It’s all done! It’s looks fantastic and I really enjoyed myself chatting the night away with artists and art lovers alike. I managed to forget I had orange juice in my cup and spilt it all over the front of my dress at one stage but hey, I survived lol. I seriously enjoyed myself more than I expected to! I love it when that happens. Thank you to the people that turned up and socialised.

Special thanks to Tanya Dann, Marimba Powley, Philina Den Dulk, Kay Ward and Michelle Wallis – our local artists that all came out for the evening.

It’s been a great day in my world today and to top it off  my daughter won her athletics races – smart, sporty, creative and beautiful – what more could you ask for? She was also racing the girls a year older than her. Go you good thing you!

I’m surrounded by fantastic people. Life is great.

Sorry, this post is a bit here, there and everywhere. I am exhausted.

Time to relax tomorrow. I will not do anything. Ok, maybe I’ll clean the house, it’s looking a bit worse for wear today. No one come over ok? Hehehe. Other than that though, time to just be a Mum. I’m looking forward to that. Until Blog Idol…oh my gosh.
