Two more off the list!
30. Change the music on my ipod.
Who would have thought changing the music on my ipod would be SUCH a mission. It’s pretty straight forward stuff right? Yes, it is. So how come it took me about 12 hours. I know!!!… but explaining the whole ordeal would just be too much of a mission. It involves error messages, slow uploads and dying computers. Let’s just say I started my evening off last night being my happy little self and by the end of it I was not a happy chappy. I ended up just going to bed and in the morning when I woke up, everything I had set up had magically found it’s way onto my ipod. I think I might need to say thank you to my hubby.
8. Write a poem.
I wrote a poem today. Well, I didn’t actually write it so much as typed random words without stopping to think. It took me all of about 30 seconds and when I stopped to look, I’d written two verses. It’s a pretty dark poem. I’m not quite ready to share it in it’s entirety just yet so I’ve put it in an image. I figured I’d turn it into a little piece of art. It features the whole poem but it’s a little hard to read..on purpose. Some things are better left to the imagination. If you by chance manage to read the entire thing though, congratulations. It really encompasses the state I was in at the time of writing it. There’s been something bugging me the past couple of weeks, I don’t think I hid it too well but I think… I HOPE that it’s finally finished with today. If anything, at least it’s given me a chance to create through poetry. I’ll take it.

Don’t worry, I feel much better after getting it all out now
Nothing bad has happened tomorrow. Get up and try again.
Have you ever felt that heavenly love,
the kind that brings tears to your eyes?
Have you ever had such strong emotions,
you dreaded to say goodbye?
Have you ever had that moment,
where you knew you’d found the one?
Have you ever found that place in life,
where you finally knew you belonged?
I’ve felt all these because of you,
and as confusing as it is.
I wouldn’t change it for the world,
this tender, art of love.

Ok so I’m finally making progress with planning which paintings to send to Christchurch. YAAY! I’m sending my miniatures, although I’m a few short so I will need too pick up some more canvases. Hopefully they’ll have some in store but if not, I willl get some long thin ones instead. See, I have my back up plan all ready.
More good news, I sold a piece tonight. It WAS meant to go to Christchurch, I had it all laid out with the others in my makeshift panel but it’s been purchased so now I will have to make something else to replace it. All good! I also got a piece commissioned which sounds like fun. Something with my poetry or inspirational quotes, with a manly feel hehehe. I can’t wait to see what happens.
I altered a couple of the miniatures today. I have TRIED to get photos but seeing as its so darn overcast and miserable outside and the clear coat on the paintings just refects and gives off a glare so they’ve turned out horribly. Ill attempt to get better photos at a later date.

Well, I had no idea May was actually renamed May Arts Month for Southland but I sure know now. I just received an invitation to the opening night. I may as well go. It means not making it to a workout which is actually a sad thing for me but it does mean meeting other creative people in Southland, so that balances it out. I got this big brochure thing about it too and there is a tonne happening around Southland for that time. Once again, Southland community spirit shines through, it’s strong I tells ya! There are short films, exhibitions, theatre, comedy acts, poetry recitals, bands, food, dance, dolls and a whole lot more. Definitely sounds like a busy month for lil old Invercargill. In the brochure I spotted a fellow artist Deanna Gracies name all lit up. Deanna creates the most amazing jewellery you’ll ever have laid eyes on. I’ll head over to that exhibit to see her jewellery in real life. I can’t wait till I have some extra money laying around to get myself one of her bracelets. Her blog and website links are on this page, just scroll down and click on Deanna Gracie. Below that was the ad for the Seafood Cocktail exhibition.
