I set up a store on Zazzle the other week and I’m finally getting around to telling you about it! You can now purchase items like magnets, mousepads, shoes, caps, tees and hoodies; created from my designs. Prices start at just $4.00.
My favourite would have to be these:

They’ll be available for purchase tomorrow for US$80. You can customise the stitching, laces and surrounds to the colours you want. You also get an extra pair of laces, the colour of your choice, with each purchase.
I actually really want a pair of these for myself. I’m wearing black and pink velour Chuck Taylors as I type. LOVE.
So stop by and take a look around! http://zazzle.com/chavah Hope you enjoy. Add it to your favourites as new products will continue to be loaded.
**On a side note, I’m dying to update you on the yellow chair! I just need to sand something off and give it a final coat. As soon as I’m done there will be an update for you.
So the lovely Marimba Powley, a local fellow artist has lent me her ladder to help me with this project. Thank you!
I’m still working through the design process and trying to figure out how to simplify the process of creating the images I want to use without it costing an arm and a leg. I can think of 2 options. One is simple and affordable but getting my hands on the right resources is a bit complicated, the other costs a little more money but makes creating what I want easier. Hmmm what to do what to do. Hopefully I’ll have an epiphany sometime soon.
In the meantime I’ve been trying to implement my theme of ‘heritage’ into the design. We’re true blue kiwis, we love New Zealand, it’s our home and we’re a multi-cultural family which I love, love, love. NZ is honestly the most amazing place like that, so many cultures, so many stories, so many foods and traditions to appreciate! Anyway, I also wanted to include our background cultures. Andrew is full Scottish and I’m 1/2 Samoan so here’s what I’ve come up with so far.

The image broken down:
The Kinloch Clan is what we call our little tribe. It’s just always felt right to say. Obviously clan comes from the Scottish side of things, vikings and all that – teehehe. In Samoan it’s aiga and in Maori it’s whanau. The letters are coloured to feature the design of the Scotland flag. 1 beacause I like the colours, 2 because I like the pattern. The little flower is Samoan, a feminine symbol, the koru a symbol all New Zealander’s are familiar with represents new life, beginnings and growth. There’s a crown over the C because that’s my little signature for my alter ego. I have the nickname Queen-C and I used to always doodle a crown on everything I owned.
That’s where I’m up to. It’s just a simplified draft but I think you get the idea.
I’ve just launched some new prints on my store over at chavahkinloch.com. You can now purchase 30cm x 40cm gloss prints of my Nas of the Mohicans and Queen C designs. These prints add a great touch of contemporary style to any space. Which one’s your favourite? I’m thinking of having a giveaway. Oooo la la.
